The Liceo Scientifico in Pergola has introduced new courses to meet the new cultural
and social challenges from a world moving faster and faster and to provide students with a good level of general
educational preparation.
E.C.D.L.
This computing course is designed for those students who intend to get their European certificates
based on the standards established by CESPIS ( Council of European Professional Informatics Society).
In Italy, the examinations are run by AICA (Agency for Computing and Automatic Calculation).
The E.C.D.L. certificates consist of seven exams which are held in official Test Center established
by AIDA. The Liceo Scientifico Torelli in Fano is one of them.
The seven level examinations correspond to the following stages
Module 1 - Technology Information
Module 2 - Use of computer and file management
Module 3 - Word management
Module 4 - Excel management
Module 5 - Database management
Module 6 - Power Point management
Module 7 - Internet use
PET/FCE english Examinations
These examinations are given by the school teachers
in cooperation with a well-qualified native speaker, to prepare students who want to get
their Cambridge intermediate / upper intermediate certificates in English.
The certificates assess the candidates’level and ability in using English
as a foreign language, and they are accepted by most Italian Universities
and are recognized worldwide. The certificate contributes to future employment
prospects and it is valuable in the field of trade andcommerce.
Extra curricular school activities

- The annual school newspaper produced by students
- Introduction to theories and techniques in interpreting and analysing films
- Cultural or / and social activities incooperation with assosiations present in the area
- Lectures given by former school students about their University experiences and
visits to Universities to help students make the right decision in their choice of Higher
Education course
- An afternnon theatre course to stage a performance that is acted in the local theatre at the
end of each school year
- A curricular Physical Education training to stage a ballet at the end of the school year
CIC which provides psychological support to students
