OUR DEAR SCHOOL

Our school is very big: there are eleven classrooms, all upstairs and also other rooms: the laboratoires.
Downstairs there are the blue room, psychotraing room, the refectory and the directio's offices.
Our school's name is "Luigi Pirandello". It is in the quarter "Cinque torri", called so because near there are big buildings like tower.

THE SCHOOL'S GARDENS

Around the school there is a big garden divided into three parts. In the first part there is a few trees and we go there to run and play.

The second part is a little orchard. There are: fig, olive, apricot, trees,

In the third part there are a lot of evergreen trees. On a little hill there is a statue, there we go to play and hide behind the bushes.

OUR CLASSROOM

Our classroom is not very large. We are twenty pupils and when we do team works, there is a big confusion.
Hanging on the wall there are maps and our posters. On the end wall hangs a paper train, we made it when we were in the first class. During the year we stick on the train the nicest drawings. It is old , very coloured and gives us happiness. There are two teacher's desks and two cupboards.
In a corner we keep ten coloured pòastic circles. During the break we play with them.

THE COMPUTERS' ROOM

It is the nearest to our classroom. It is very litle with long white tables on the which there are: ten computers, printing-machines, scanners, loudspeaker. Under the tables there are a lot of tables. When we go into this room we feel big experts.
We went there to develop the project European Kids, to send same letters to W.W.F., to play PC genius (instructive game), to type the text of a book written by us and to draw with the mouse.

THE ENGLISH CLASSROOM

It is the farthest from our classroom and it is rather little. Near the teacher's desk there is the television, hanging on the wall there are posters with english words and sentences. On the desk the teacher Susy keeps a big radio. We use it to listen english songs and conversations.

THE PAINTING - CREATIVITY ROOM

During the school-year we carry out a lot of manual activites. This year the most important works have been the earthen statuettes, the little houses for the crib and the carnival masks.

There are big tables where we can work altogether. There are cupboards containig colours, brushes, little pots, sponges, instruments to work the clay, glue, scissors and many drawing sheets and cardboards. On the walls hang some old works.

A CRIB FOR CHRISTMAS 2001

This year we've made a crib with earthen statuettes: each couple of pupils, with their piece of clay, made a shepherd taking a gift to Jesus. The teachers finished them to make them nicer.

In the end a dad let the statuettes cook in a special oven. How nice! As if by magic the statuettes seemed made of biscuit and seemed to walk really.
But to make a real crib we needed little houses and mountains, so we'vebuilt also these with old boxes that we turned upside down and painted.
Sheet of paper sprayed with colour and crumpled up for the mountains.Other children brought stones for rocks and paths, a lot of fresh moss and dry branches for the trees. If you looked at it, it seemed to be true.

THE BALLS OF THE CHRISTMAS TREE WITH THE DECOPAGE TECHNIQUE

· Buy some big or little polystyrene balls.
· Choose Christmans paper to cover the balls.
· Cut the paper in little pieces, and stick them on the balls.
· With the brush spread the varnish on the balls to make them shiny.
· After three or four days when the ball is dry insert a hook to hang the ball on the brauch of the tree.
· Then stick on it a cloth's ribbon to make more beautiful.(foto)

THE CARNIVAL MASKS

... if you have got scissors, glue, cardboard, ribbons, colours and a lot of fantasy... the result will be a mask that shows your personality.
