The Ship of Novilara

We are students of 4°a class"L.Pirandello Primary school .
Last May we visted Novilara, a small village
near Pesaro, well Known for its Necropolis, where the ship "Europe"was under construction.

It's a ship built on the basis of the "Stele" of Novilara,one of the most important Picenus remain.

"Stele" of Novilara

The " Stele" is an argil tablet that proves the ship used by the Piceni three thousand years ago.
It' s one of the most important Picenus remain found out in Marches.

The ship has been planed by the Ing. Cobau exactly like the one that the Piceni used to sail across the Adriatic Sea, from coast to coast.
The building of the ship took a year of wort in the shipyard and it engaged fifteen boys and girls of the"Imprevisto"Community guided by an expert teacher of axe.

The lauch of "Europe ship"

On September 2nd 2000 the President's wife of the European Commission was present at the lauching of the ship.

After the lauch, "Europe ship" will stay in the sea to stabilize its timber for many days.
Next summer "Europe ship" will land at many important Mediterranean sea ports and it'll have a peace mission in the name of history,friendship and marine traditions of people lived in this sea.
