Lisbon

Lisbon is a beautiful and bright city that sees the sun rising up over the waters of Tagus river every day.

It was conquered to the Muslins by "D.Afonso Henriques", the first King of Portugal, in the 12th century.
There are many important museums in Lisbon: Marine Museum, Child Museum, Ancient Art Museum, Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation among others.
Lisbon was destroyed by an enormous earthquake in 18th century. The "Marquês de Pombal", the prime minister of the time, rebuilt the city following a modern plan.

Saint Anthony of Lisbon 13th June

SantoAntónio, is a local feast in Lisbon, whose patron is St Anthony. It's celebrated on the 13^th June with typical songs dances and food - the famous grilled sardines.

It is "Fado" – a sad song. It is played by guitars and violas. A year ago, Amália Rodrigues, the voice of the "fado", was dead.

The typical gastronomy

In what concerns gastronomy, the typical food is: "Pasteis de Belém" and grilled sardines in the popular Saint’s Feast.
