I live in
Romania.
Its capital is called Bucharest. There are lots of places to visit here like a beautiful
zoo with lots of animals, a museum of the villages in Romania, where you can see a lot of
old traditional houses from all the regions in the country. There are also a lot of parks,
theatres, cinemas where people spend their weekends.
This city is visited by a lot of foreign tourists. People have called Bucharest
"Little Paris". There are around 2 million people living here.
If you ever visit Bucharest I hope you'll like it as much as the other tourists do.

The city where I
live is called Bucharest. There is a legend that says that a shepherd named Bucur has
established the first settlement for him and his family and he called it Bucharest.
In time, the city has developed, becoming nowadays the capital of our
country. But the true history of our city dates back to Vlad Tepes, who has built a
fortress to defend the country from the Tur kish invasions, in 1417. During his
reign and that of his brother's Radu the Handsome, the fortress has developed economically
and politically as never before. The city has flourished and has become more and more
powerful.
At the end of the 19th century the city changed a lot: a lot of buildings were built that
where designed to serve a political and economic purpose and the look of the city was
improved so that people called it "Little Paris".
The river
Dambovita flows through the middle of the city offering it a specific charm.

Bucharest
is in Romania and is the capital of this country. It is situated in the south-eastern part
of the country in the middle of large fields. There are around 2,000,000 inhabitants in
Bucharest.
The river Dambovita flows through Bucharest. The city is divided in 6 districts. There are a lot
of schools, kindergardens, hospitals, museums, shops, markets, a subway and stations of
which the most important is the Northern Station. There are also sports centers and there
is The Childrens' Palace where children can learn a lot of things like for example
dancing.
Most people are busy with their work, some others are looking for a job, some even for a
job outside the country.
